Source The South Wales Argus  21st February 2008 Transporter Bridge clock comes home WELCOME HOME: Newport mayor councillor Allan Morris holds the returned Transporter Bridge clock A PIECE of Newport's history returned to Newport after going missing for more than a decade. The Newport Transporter Bridge clock disappeared during the redevelopment to the bridge in 1995 but was returned to Newport council and is now in the city's Museum. In 2008 Mayor Allan Morris received the double faced clock that was made by S. D Sunnocks in 1906 to commemorate the opening of the bridge. He stated at the time, "It is an important part of our heritage and I remember it well from when I was growing up. I used to travel on the bridge a lot when I was a child and I would often find myself looking up at the clock. I'm glad to have it back where it belongs." The disappearance of the clock is surrounded in myste
